The Not My Super Bowl Champs hashtag had jokes
The NotMySuperBowlChamps hashtag is littered with jokes about the anti-Trump folks who were having a Monday morning meltdown after the New England Patriots came from greater than four touchdowns behind to defeat the Atlanta Falcons.
Anti-Trump folks took to the Twitter to tweet their disgust at the fact that Donald Trump is friends with everyone on The New England Patriots organization from owner Robert Kraft, Coach Bill Belichick, Quarterback Tom Brady, to the water boy.
Folks like Eduardo Samaniego tweeted, “BREAKING, Trump signs Executive Order giving Tom Brady and the New England Patriots 42 points.”
After the Falcons scored a touchdown, New York Daily News writer Shaun King tweeted , “TOUCHDOWN!!!!!! Take that Trump!”
Rapper T.I. added his two cents to the tweetersation by tweeting out a photo of Brady with a “Make America Great Again” hat in his locker: “Even the Football Gods don’t like ugly.”
There wasn’t any never mind paid to the fact that Massachusetts voted for Hillary Clinton, while Georgia voted for Donald Trump.
In fact, five of the New England Patriots players have decided not to go to the White House.
The Big Lead reported that two of the players, Devin McCourty and LeGarrette Blount, said it was because they “don’t feel welcomed” in the People’s House.
However, the anti-Trump folks don’t see this. They are more concerned with the fact that Trump is friends with some folks who are members of the Patriots' team.
And for them, that was enough to throw shade at everybody on the Patriots’ team. Welp, the shade the anti-Trump folks threw ended up getting thrown back at them in an also funny way.
After all, this was the Super Bowl and not the Republican or Democratic National Convention. It’s FOOTBALL! It's a sport whereby men folks wear helmets, pads, tight shirts and tight pants and cleats.
They throw a ball, catch a ball, kick a ball, and chase folks with the ball. The job of a football player is to get that ball over the goal line, not to increase the number of voters in the poll lines.
Unfortunately, the mucho caliente political climate has fried folks’ brains so to the point that they think the next great political debate should take place out there on the gridiron.
